Hodler / Monet / Munch at the Marmottan Museum
In the museum which hosts the greatest collection of Monet’s works, the Musée Marmottan gathers for this exhibition 3 major artists Claude Monet, Ferdinand Holder, and Edvar Munch, of the earlier XXth century belonging to different artistic movements: the Impressionism, the Symbolism and the Expressionism. They all have in common their deep questionings about their art, despite the risk of being misunderstood and rejected. How is it possible to represent light, movement and fugitive instants on a 2 dimensions and flat surface? Landscapes and other subjects are a laboratory for experimentations of their own art.
